The gold dot appears only when your guess is exactly one letter off the true length — nothing shows if you're spot on, and nothing shows if you're two or more away. Try to clear every dot and gold tile before you run out of guesses.
Any real word of 4–9 letters is a fair guess. Seven guesses a day.
